Chicken Coop #2 underwent a major renovation, including a new roof, updated wire mesh siding, and a smooth concrete floor. In January, new laying cages arrived from Italy and were installed in the coop. By February, 6,000 young hens were transferred into the new cages and have since begun laying eggs. Plans are underway to install a second set of cages and add another 6,000 hens to maintain production growth. The farm currently employs eight people, with plans to hire two more. Despite early losses from a flu outbreak, vaccination programs and on-site feed production have helped ensure a healthy and productive flock.
