Marako School to be Rebuilt!

Empower Mali is pleased to announce a generous $3,500 donation by the Building Youth Around the World Foundation. The generous donation will be added to the previous money raised to help rebuild the classrooms of the Marako Middle School. Marako, with a population of 2600, was one of the few lucky villages in Mali that has a school starting from 1st grade all the way to 9th grade. Teachers Housing Completed in Dongorona!

The three double room housing will be occupied by the director and teachers of the Micah Shea Watkins Academy of Dongorona, thereby ensuring that the village of Dongorona can continue to receive and host teachers well equipped and trained to teach. Two more tractors for Mali!

Empower Mali is pleased to announce a generous $50,000 tractor donation by the Watkins Family The two new tractors will be a great addition to ensuring the food security situation in the community where it is donated. Update on Jaja: Paraguay Scholarship Student

In 2016, Empower Mali rallied all our donors to raise the living expenses and travel fund to send our first Malian student to Paraguay on scholarship. We partnered with Fundacion Paraguay to provide a 3-year scholarship to Diakaridia (Jaja) Samake, an orphan from the community of Ouelessebougou, Mali. Jaja has successfully completed the first year.
